Quotes of the day
The truth [is] that there is only one terminal dignity-love. And the story of a love is not important-what is important is that one is capable of love. It is perhaps the only glimpse we are permitted of eternity. ~ Helen Hayes

The meerkats (Suricata suricatta) is a small mammal that lives in the Kalahari Desert in southern Africa. Despite its name, it is more closely related to the mongoose family than to cats. You may or may not know that a group of meerkats is called a "mob" or "gang", and all of the meerkats in a mob are related. I took this photo at the Australian Zoo, but if it had been in the wild I would have had to be near their burrow very still before sunrise so when the first meerkat comes out it would accept me as part of the scenery. I hope you like it.
