Melbourne Mini-Meet idea

Postby blinkblink on Sun Mar 12, 2006 3:13 pm

Having taken yet another picture of a fence, I really need to get out somewhere and do something different.

The zoo was suggested last time as a venue and since I haven't been there, I reckon it might be a goer.

So how does the zoo on Sunday the 9th of April at 9am sound?

Sounds interesting, but I can't make it. Working on the Vigex International photo comp that weekend.
Probably count me in if ends up on a different date though.

I picked an arbitrary date. How about the 23rd, the week after easter?

Chris, the Zoo sounds good. I would be interested.

All relevant details are here

As for dates, 9/4 or 23/4 both sound OK, with a bit of a preference for 23/4

(Remembering that Tuesday 25/4 is Anzac day, and lots of people will probably make a four day weekend out of it.. Well, I will, anyway!)

Any more takers?

(Chris - I took the liberty af adding "Melbourne" to the thread title)

There's gotta be more that 4 of us who want to have a meet. I'd be happy to do this or the winery.

Hi Guys,

I'll follow the thread and if I can come along I will. Weekends just seem to get so busy with Shoots and family commitments but the Zoo sounds like fun.

I'm usually there most weekends anyway, so it sounds good to me.

Bummer, the week-end of April 23rd I'll be in Tassie on a 4 day photographic workshop around Dove Lake, at the base of Cradle Mountain with the leaves turning color :D

But if I wasn't going there that week-end then I'd be in it!

Sorry, just had to gloat, but the zoo with you guys would have been good fun...

If you're going to organize a few people, you could call the zoo before hand and organise a guide for a few hours if you wish, I think it's all free at the zoo... Also, if you want to, give them a copy of your images on CD from the day and they might use something for their magazine, just in case you were interested...

Get there early for good light and light people traffic, there's lots of work going on at the zoo at the moment as they're building a new Orang enclosure and other stuff, so some parts are closed off at the moment, make sure you see the bird enclosure too, usually good value for a stroll...

And of course the primates are always good value...

New thread started here.

Great work Chris.

I'll lock this thread to avoid confusion.
