I'm a relative beginner with drone image making, be it stills or video. You're basically at the mercy of the elements be it wind or light. When everything falls into place, and you're in a safe-to-fly zone, the results can be mesmerizing.

Yesterday was cold, dark and dreary. We spent a good bit of time at the Tekapo Springs hot pools. Today was brilliantly clear. We backtracked to Tekapo from Fairlie and headed for some less travelled areas. The wind was not far away, as it always seems to be in alpine areas, but I managed to get some air time around 10.30-11.00am. Watching 4k footage is mesmerizing. I have no idea how I'm going to edit several hundred gigabites of footage into something that people will watch, but that will be for another time. In the meantime, here's a still from today. Lake Tekapo looks like some sort of still, aqua soup. The trees look like pieces of jelly added for decoration.
