Help!

Postby Evil_Robot Santa on Sat Jun 07, 2008 12:41 am

I am new to photography in a way as I have only just purchased a new DSRL camera (PENTAX K200D).I have some equipment ,but am looking to make the most out of my upcoming holiday to Las Vages and Canada. Can I get some ideas as to what I should get in the way of lens filters and cleaning equipment.

Body : Pentax K200D
1st lens : Sigma 17-70mm F2.8-4.5 DC Macro
2nd lens : Sigma 70-300mm F4-5.6 APO DG Macro
2 x 4GB SD cards
Tamrac 3340 carry bag

If I could get some help with a good store to buy from in Adelaide or over the net it would help also

Thanks!

I would recommend Marumi DHG protect filters, but Hoya Super HMC's will be easier to find. As for a cleaning kit, look for the Giotto's CL1002. Both these items should be readily available from almost any camera store.

Don't forget to take along a tripod. I'm sure there will be plenty of time where you may need one.

i use B+W filters.
hvstar.net are very reasonabley priced.

i just use a normal microfibre cleaning cloth, a blower and a small brush to clean my gear. i personally dont use any cleanin solution, just a hot breath on the lens element is all i do. i'm pretty anal about keeping my gear in top shape and i have a ritual weekly clean of all my gear including lens mounts, elements and body.

Truth is I use the Blower and the cloth from that kit most of the time. I have only used the fluid once, but it is nice to know that I have it.
