First challenge of the new year!

Postby Nnnnsic on Sat Feb 03, 2007 12:39 am

Right! I've got the details for the first challenge of the new year.

This one should make you think a bit since photography is not just about framing something up in the viewfinder, but having a thought process too (most of the time).

So, without further... whatever it is... the theme is...

Wordplay: There must be a clearly identifiable word somewhere in the image and there must be a connection between it and the image. The word must be one that would be understood by the majority of forum members.

I'd prefer not to have people discuss in specifics what the theme is. It's not a very hard one and I'd prefer people not to feel like they're limited to various ideas.

That's what we think too, Keith, although it took us about 9 pages of discussion to come with the subject. :)

What Leigh failed to mention - and this is important - is that this challenge is going to be a short and sharp one.

Here's the timings we have in place:

Submission closed and voting opens mon 12/2/07

Voting closes mon 19/2/07 winner announced shortly thereafter

So, apart from this weekend, you have next weekend to get your shot done, and that's it!

Go forth and shoot.

Ooooh, this is going to be a tough one! I like it! And only 9 days to do it in. I like working under pressure!

I saw a good example yesterday when visiting a wedding photog friend of mine - a big wall with "Discover More" written across it and he'd got the bride to look down the groom's trousers!

Hope I didn't just ruin someone's idea!

Happy challenging everybloody!

I assume there are no changes to the usual conditions? ie. post processing, judging etc.

I've had a few ideas already.

But, unfortunately, my camera up up on the hoist. :(
