The Long Weekend

Postby gstark on Sat Jun 09, 2007 11:32 am

Nnnnsic's edit: We've come across a really evil bug in the new version of phpBB3. I'm currently investigating another system. I'll be updating this post throughout the weekend.

System Maintenance.

Leigh and I are going to be doing some system maintenance over the weekend. Please be prepared for some downtime, as we may be upgrading to phpbb3.

Or perhaps something entirely different. Who knows? :)

And I may even get around to putting up the booking forms for the AW dinner. :) We already have a number of fully paid bookings, so be warned: please book early.

Speaking of the

Anniversary Weekend

The AW is just a couple of months away, and we've been busy working out how to keep you entertained/occupied/whatever over the weekend.

Here's what's lined up this far:

August 4 - Saturday

9:00 am - Ferry Hop on Sydney Harbour.
We'll have more to say on this in the next few days.

10:30 am Portraiture Workshop - Balmain.
Bookings are essential for this, and the day is already fully subscribed. There will be a small cost to contribute towards the venue hire.

1:00 pm. The Ferry-Hop people will be joining the portraiture workshop group for light refreshments/lunch in Balmain, before continuing their trek around the harbour.

7:00 pm Presentation Dinner.
This is where the party really gets going. Prizes will be awarded for such things as the AW challenge (yes, we already have the theme in mind) as well as for a few other notable achievements.

I also expect to have a few freebies and surprises available for those in attendance, so please keep this night free.

We have exclusive use of a small-ish restaurant on the inner north shore - the same venue where we so enjoyed our Christmas dinner last year - and the cost is $40 per person.

Because the venue is small, we'll be restricting numbers.

August 5 - Sunday

There will be a family picnic, recovery session, and swapmeet. If you have some stuff you want to offload - this may be the chance. if you just want to get out with the family and chill ... this may be the chance. Or if you want to get out to somewhere pretty and make some images ... yep, this will be your chance.

More details to come as we put everything to bed over the next few days ...

Accommodation for interstate visitors

We can assist in this realm too, with a really great Sydney experience for you.

So long as it's not one of those stupid psychology ones.

BOT - 'Tell me how you feel!'
Me - 'Fine thanks, how are you?'
BOT - 'Let's talk about you'
Me - 'Fine with me.'
BOT - 'What brought you here?'
Me - 'What? My living room? I walked in and sat down'
BOT - 'That's interesting. How did that make you feel?'
Me - 'WTF are you talking about? What is walking into a room meant to make me feel?'
BOT - 'I said let's talk about you? How do you feel?'
Me - 'This is boring already?'
BOT - How do you feel about that?
Me - 'You are starting to piss me off with your feely crap.'
BOT - 'I sense you are angry. Is that how you feel?'
Me - 'FEEL THIS BITCH............'

[disconnect]

Monday is a good time to make the changes, if Gary's prediction comes true, that's when this place will slow to a crawl anyway.

I'm still converting half of a test database. At this rate, Monday will be when it happens if Dad gives me the go-ahead for this current plan only because it'll take half of Monday to convert our massive database.

And Steve, by disconnecting from the bot, you gave into it's needs.

Tell me, how did that make you feel?
