The owner rode it in and out of the studio. But he did transport it on a truck to minimise detailing.

Looks like the Lance Armstrong machine they made on Discovery channel, which incidentally is showing a 2 part series on this beauty at 7.30pm tomorrow.

Thanks folks,
Overhead are two Elinchrom 2,000 WS units in soft-boxes and a further two Elinchrom 2,000 WS units in soft-boxes at either end. To the side of the camera is a 4 metre x 3 metre scrim with a further 1,000 WS pumped through.
That gave me f11-16 on Astia 100F which was exposed in a Mamiya RZ II 6x7 SLR.

I don't like the grey background, it kinda gives it a dirty look, maybe white would have being nice, thats ust me of course
i wished i had money for medium format gear.

The white background has been allowed to darken off to provide an edge to the machine. It has picked up a lot of warmth from the light reflected off the bike itself - especially the tank. If you look carefully the backround is warmer at one end than the other due to the angle of the tank which is the main reflective painted mass. It doesn't matter because another image will eventually be stripped in behind the bike in all likelihood.

yeah i did notice that theres about 20points more red in the right and middle bg.
i thought you would have needed to have bring down a over head black board for give darken edges towards the tank?
