Battery Grip Recomendations?

Hey Guys,

Im considering buying a battery grip for my 30d. I was just wondering if anyone has any feedback on such grips from ebay supplies such as link delight or hk supplies? How do they compare to the Canon ones? to they feel legit of plastic and flimbsy? Do the aftermarket batterys that come with them last a while or is it better to stick with canon batterys?

Thanks
Miike

Cant say on Canon but I have tried the Nikon grips of said manufacture (Photix) and have gone back to ONLY buying genune grips again.

HK supplies is Poon, the same guy that does the bargains thru this forum.

Have a read of the FAQ on the bargains section as you may almost be eligible to buy thru them at a discount and support this forum

Thanks for the reply. Why will you only buy genuine grips now? What were the downsides to the photix grips?

I had 2 fail on me. 1st one the portrait shutter button went ass-up. Pulled it to bits a few times, and ended up just throwing it away.
2nd one just kept showing batteries as flat even though laced directly into camera showed full? Bad contacts perhaps.

Nikon ones have been perfect.

I also made the mistake of buying a bunch of Phottix batteries as backups. 4 out of 4 have failed..... Within a year!

Gen-you-ine from now on!

I have the D300 phottix grip, no problems so far... A little plasticy but at 1/3 the cost was in my price range.
