The member you mentioned won't be around to post some comments and images as he is away on holiday. You guess right as well, 200mm f/2 is with him for this holiday trip.

I had the opportunity to play with his new lens sometime last week. It's HUGE - fatter than 70-200 but slightly shorter (without the hoods). AF is fast (on his D3).

this is on my christmas wish list, i hope "it" turns up at a melbourne meet :D

i have had a play with the 2.0 in amsterdam, and prefer to have it ahead of a d3...

that would be me.. nothing mysterious though, but i'm travelling every week so i don't get much time on here.

the 200 f2 stays on the D3x pretty much all the time now and I use it for wedding work.

i know the sizes are larger than 800 pixels, but i think ppl would want to pixel peep a little here. if mods have a problem with it, let me know and i'll link smaller pics.

how close does it focus? 1.9m comes to mind...?

Yep, around there. At that distance, it's very hard to use though, as the dof is very narrow (1-2cm from memory) @ f2.

thanks theo. ive seen heaps of samples from the lens. its incredible.

i really wanted to get some in the field impressions from anyone that hd one. methd has been kind enuf to anser all my questions ib PM. but feel free to give your own opinions on it. :)
