Postby shockadelica- on Sat Apr 26, 2008 8:52 am

Hey all,
i know how to make PDF Presentations but i need something a little more because a little extra effort was put into these photo's and they are for a family members childs christening. i'm wanting to have some nice music playing while this slideshow runs.

can someone please help me with what programs i could use, if there are any free ones that would be great.

Thankyou

Hi.

There are several, I don't know of any freebies though. Demos are available.

The most economical is Pictures to Exe. It's very capable. PC only for create and playback.

Another good one is ProShow Gold. It's the CS3 of slideshow software. PC only for create and playback.

There is also a flash slideshow program which is quite good: SoundSlides. It's the only PC and Mac capable program of these three, and the only one that can also play back on both. It can also play over the internet, so you could put your pictures in a slideshow on your blog or homepage. As you might expect there is a tradeoff between filesize and quality, I did a small show as a test some time ago, it's just 360k: Norway Sunset.

Another option is to turn the photos into a movie to play on dvd, but the quality takes a bit of a hit relative to the others here. There is a free option for this: SSMM. Apple Quicktime Pro will also do this. I'm sure there are others.

Hope that helps.

There is a program built into Vista (at least) that does this - the sister-in-law did it with some of her wedding photos on my laptop.

I think she used Windows Movie Maker.....

Try jablum, it is free. Link: http://jalbum.net/
"Jalbum consists of free album software, free hosting and a creative community. With Jalbum it's easy to create your own photo album site. Just the way you want it."

you can just save the album to a CD as well and autoplay when CD is inserted into computer.

some skins allow background music
eg: http://www.fotoplayer.com/v3.0/index1.html

For about $99 you can purchase Ulead CD and DVD picture show... its a brilliant program that you use to make DVD slideshows set to music.. its also dead easy to use... :)
The last thing I want to do is hurt you... but it's still on the list... ;)
