FisheyeI was bitten by the astronomy bug quite early. It has lain dormant for some years now, but was reawakened by the recent partial eclipse. To that end, I picked up a fisheye to capture as much of the heavens as I can get in a star trail.
It does have other uses though. This is first photo. I defished, then because I was curious, I pushed the defish as far as I could, reaching that state that Terry Pratchett would call eyehsif. I quite liked the result: A little blurry as the exposure was 2Sec. A bit long even for a 16mm lens. Why is AutoISO never on when you need it? Greg

Re: FisheyeCertainly an interesting look. What does Pam think? Which fish eye did you get?

Re: Fisheye
These photos always have to go past the censors. Verdict:
I couldn't go past DDP's price Greg

Re: Fisheye
I wouldn't show it to too many people. It will be interesting to see the images you come up with that lens.
Re: FisheyeIt's funny - in the last few days I've been considering getting that cheap Samyang/Rokinon/Bower/... 8mm f/3.5 fisheye (all reports indicated very positive reviews and super sharp from f/5.6 onwards, MF of course but the newer ones are chipped to meter fine with Nikon cameras) and was about to pull the trigger when I saw Rokinon announced a new version with a detachable lens hood (so you "could" use it on FX if ever needed) - you'd still get a more circular image but at least you wouldn't have to grind off the hood.

Re: Fisheye
Very interesting...Im very tempted to pull the trigger on the Zenitar 16mm f/2.8 to complement my Tokina 10-17....but a cicular fish would be very interesting for the D700 Cameron
