I was only thinking the other day that the domain name d70users.com would eventually become obselete as we will all eventually move on to bigger and better cameras. The march of technology and all that

Seems our ever thinking admins are on top of it. dslrusers.com has been registered and links to this forum. The only problem with such a generic name we may get some C***n riff-raff dropping by

Could you at least wait a couple of days so I announce what we're working on at Birddogs on Saturday? :)

It's not THAT big... but it might annoy a few people.

Hey, I was conversing with the enemy at the F1GP. There was another dslr user, an older gentleman that was doing the same thing I was doing at the Brabham stand. Which was going to the back of the stand on the stairs and taking photos. He had a Canon 10D and a 70?-300MM Hypersonic zoom lens. Because we were blocking one blokes view when we were going for the shots we came to an agreement that we'd shoot the alternating group of cars. On race day he showed me the photos he captured of the Porsche rolling. If I'd stayed around and put up with the rain I would of captured it too :)

Umm.... not sound like the hard-arse... but... that was off-topic right?

Kipper and some of the other Melbournites already know the gist of what I'm going to say about the DSLRUsers.com bit as I told them on Friday night... but I'll just wait 'till Birddog's to tell everyone else.(it'll give us all something to talk about). Then, when I start putting it into place over the course of the week, I'll announce it.

That is, of course, if I start putting it into place that early.

Sorry Leigh, but it was a bit hard to miss when it's in 12 point bold type at the top of the questionnaire...... :?

No, that's a fair point, but I had to use that because of the shift this place will be making. Don't worry, it'll still be D70Users.com... the same place you know and love. You do love it, right?

Hah, it was a bit OT now that I've read what I've typed. Just john mentioned canons and it sort of triggered me off on that.

Well seeing as the missus is out all day Saturday and I'm stuck minding the fruit of my loins and won't make it to Birdy's on Saturday, how about spilling your guts now ?

There are 557 members of which maybe 30 will be at Belmore on Saturday. C'mon, let the other 527 in on the secret

Why? It's not that big of a deal at the moment (don't try reversing that on me... it won't work... stubborness runs in the family) and ya'll can wait...

I will tell you, however, it's about the expansion of the site. It might end up giving our good moderators a bit of work to do.

OK,OK  Maybe I'll have to get across to Belmore. Might have to drag a 5 year old with me, I'll have to check with Birdy if that's OK. At least he'll give everyone something more interesting to photograph than a concrete Bhudda :P

I'll have my 5 year old daughter with me as well. I'm sure a bit of company would be welcome...
Cheers, John

Ah... you wish.

Two words: Collectors Item.

Besides, the D70Users bit will actually more than likely still hang around.

It was actually announced last week but only for the Melbourners who were listening to me at the time.

I've got to work out the exact logistics for it all tonight.

But yeah, if I haven't stuck it on as a big news item after the meeting, I'll make get someone else too.

I'll even try and rig it to be my 1100th post... a non-special post number, but hopefully to replace my less-than-spectacular 1000th post. :)
