Trieu

First shot is a cracker image. A great angle you've used for that one.

Hand held or tripod?

Yeap, both shots are on a tripod.

All my shots so far are straight from the camera... but I'm getting Photoshop soon so hopefully they will look even better :!:

Thanks again Stubbsy.

Also thanks for the feedback

Love the colours in your images and especially love the last one with the stars adding an extra element to the image.

They must look great full sized.

Cheers,
Owen.

Heh Trieu, that's our secret about the location.
Oh, alright, go to the steps of the OH, look back towards the park and you'll see some steps leading up to the park. Half way up the steps there is a big gum tree (also lit up at night, I have some shots of it somewhere), and you can climb onto the ledge near the gum tree. Hang onto fence with one hand and work along ledge for a couple meters (away from bridge) and the ledge widens to about a meter wide. Plenty wide enough to set up a tripod. We found a visiting photog from overseas there, so it's not too hard to find.

By the way Trieu, they are great shots. Sharp, nicely exposed (maybe a tiny smidgeon over), great colours. In my opinion, no need to swap the Sigma for the Tokina. The Sigma is working just great for you.

Cheers
John

By the way, the night John D and I got there, someone was already up there!!! Just make sure you hold on tight to the fence as your walking out... it is like a 4m drop!

:( My bank manager AND wife are already giving me grief, but I can say..... IT IS WELL WORTH IT

particularly like the second.
the first has too much empty space for me.
I would crop more foreground out. make it a pano crop.

Nice shots mate, I was considering the Canon 10-22mm, got an offer for a 10-20 but seeing some sample images, the 10-22mm was back on the list. Looking at your shots - the 10-20mm seems as just as fine of a lens. Tough decisions

Trieu, I've just spent a couple hours PPing my shots and I came back to look at your shots. I don't think I want to put my shots up any more

They are damn fine images Trieu. And if everyone hadn't guessed by Trieu's other thread, he doesn't do any PPing. These are Jpegs straight out of the camera and resized. Nothing more. Well done mate :)

Trieu, I adore the second shot - nice to see a completely different take of an Aussie icon :) (and I'm another one who has been tossing this lens option up, and you are all convincing me to go for it ...... just have to convince the smarter half ;) )

Hi Trieu,

The Second one has it for me too. I like the perspective of the first shot - not often seen - but I would be tempted to crop the lower portion to get rid of the light. This could turn it into a pano style shot.

Looking forward to seeing some more,
Craig

Nice work Trieu...
I can't see the EXIF though... At what point on the 10-20 range were they taken?

The first one really has the WOW factor for me. It opens your eyes wide as soon as you see it.
Great work.

The second is good too. The halo off the light at the top reminds me of the frustrations I have sometimes, taking photos of the moon mainly.
