Golden Canola
These are great shots Daniel. Great colours and fantastically simple. My only slight niggle is that the tree is just a little too left in the frame. I'd liked to see it slightly further to the right.
I'd really love to see this with the tree dead smack in the middle as well. Matt
Thanks for the comments everyone!
Alex - used my D70 + 18-70DX + CPL, just winding the CPL slightly back from max polarisation Matt - you've caught me out... The tree isn't more than a few metres from a fenceline running up the hill, and the canola crop becomes a bit patchy just out of frame Unfortunately for this farmer, on the return trip 10 days later this crop had completely died.
Great photos Daniel,
the colours have come up wonderfully. Like Matt said, a bit more space on the left of the tree would have been nice, but sometimes, that is not always possible. I prefer the first one as the tree is a bit more prominent and for me that gives it some nice interest. Pity for the farmer with the drought. Cheers, André PS: looked at your flicker album, you have some other great shots in there that I either missed you have have been hiding from us I really like one of the N-S lanes of the bridge leading to P'ment House and the old Ford UTE. Photography, as a powerful medium of expression and communications, offers an infinite variety of perception, interpretation and execution. Ansel Adams

I like #1; such simplicity and really vibrant colours. The positioning of the tree on the egde of the frame would look alot better if the image was in a panorama.
Great scenery, lovely images.
Daniel - great shots !!!!
Wish we had a canola field Dodging and burning are steps to take care of mistakes God made in establishing tonal relationships! -Ansel Adams
