The picture shows the driving wheels and motion components of a steam locomotive. The horizontal bar connecting the wheels is a coupling rod which transfers power from one driving wheel to the next. These components convert the linear motion of the piston into the rotational motion of the wheels. These parts are essential for the locomotive's movement along the railway tracks.
