Quotes of the day
The truth [is] that there is only one terminal dignity-love. And the story of a love is not important-what is important is that one is capable of love. It is perhaps the only glimpse we are permitted of eternity. ~ Helen Hayes

Self portraits are really confronting, especially when you have a face like mine, tailor-made for radio! :rotfl2:

Anyway, here's an off the cuff portrait from this morning. Actually I had no intention of photographing as I was busy doing a live zoom meeting, but after that was finished I thought I'd fire off a few shots seeing I had the room all set up. Single LED (5600K) through small softbox. Fuji X-s10 + 10-24 F4 super wide angle lens. It's not ...

I took this picture last week. In reality it's a composed image of 22 individual pictures each taken for 20 seconds and one second apart of the night sky in Yulara, the resort complex that serves the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park. I was fortunate to have a night with no moon and this is the result which I hope you like it.

Fuji 35mm F1.4 goodness this time. Doesn't say much for the photog as you can't take a bad photo with this classic lens...

I have found an incredible spot, about 400m from our house in Coffs, where it's always in shade. (It is a flood mitigation area, so when it's teeming rain it's most probably not a great idea to walk through the area). Perfect spot for portraits. My 21 month old grand daughter was a willing subject last weekend.

What I like of this particular photo is that the white flowers in the foreground remind me of the dots in the indigenous paintings.

Sisters, sisters, There were never such devoted sisters.
All kinds of weather, we stick together,
The same in the rain or sun.
Two different faces, but in tight places
We think and we act as one. (Irving Berlin)

It doesn't need an introduction. It is what it is, regardless what we call it.

I took the picture of this week sometime last week. However, this week I have been thinking about how people see the same scene and colour it with their own perceptions and misconceptions ending up in an alternative reality, hence this picture. I hope you like it.

A few weeks ago I pointed my camera with a 50mm lens to the sky and this is what I got:
