I took this photo a few years back (2016). I don't think it has changed a lot since. I remember trying to imagine how this would have look at its prime, full of beauty, power and potential. Just like me now really advancing into decrepitude and slowly turning into a ruin.

I took this picture at the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao (Spain) with a Nokia 6300 mobile in 2011. The museum did not allow cameras, but you could use your mobile without flash. The Matter of Time is an installation comprising eight pieces of torqued ellipses made of weathering steel by the US sculptor Richard Serra. They are colossal sculptures that require you to walk among them and as you do you experience mild disorientation and queasiness. I hope you like it.

I took this picture of the young lady in 2012 when I used to attend a camera club. The Brisbane Camera Club used to organize events for its members like outings and hire professional models from agencies so we can practice our photography. I changed the picture to be more like a painting or drawing of some kind. I hope you like it.

Hello

This is an abstract after an sculpture by Arnaldo Pomodoro. La macchina (Egisto) is in itself a bronze metal abstract sculpture he brought to the Brisbane 88's exhibition and it is one of the four pieces that were popular known as the Daleks (from Dr Who) and for some years were in George Square. I hope you like it.

I took this photo last time I was in Spain in 2019 in a small village called Buitrago del Lozoya. Pablo Picasso met a republican barber in Paris called Eugenio Arias Herranz and never allowed anyone else to cut or arrange his hair. The friendship lasted many years and Picasso paid Arias with some of his works. In his old age and once democracy was restored in Spain, Arias decided to return to his birthplace and in his will left his Picasso collection to his community.

I took this picture in Doha on our way to Europe in 2019. This museum building was inspired by the desert rose crystal and it was designed by the architect Jean Nouvel to house cultural, ethnographic and archeological artifacts important to Qatari national identity. I hope you like it.

I took this photo late last year when we invited friends to lunch. Basque cuisine is internationally renowned. A San Sebastian’s restaurant, La Viña, which has been open for more than 60 years, is famous for one of their cheesecakes. I hope you like it.
