Just in reply to Colin's recent fungi, I happened to be up in the Mt's this weekend (as tour guide) but managed to spend a half hour today looking for and attempting to take fungi with my Fuji compact (sorry no real macro shots here).

#2 has nice composition.

What were using as a flash here? (Or were you using a flash?(

As suren pointed out, #2 has a really nice composition, really easy to look at, a bit more DOF and contrast would help but, at the end of teh day, it just works because its a fine composition.

#1 is also nice too, a small crop (mainly to remove some dark area) and a bump in the sat/contrast would make this a definite keeper in my books.

Thanks Suren, that would have been the on board flash (the F100fd is a compact and using an off camera flash would have required me to lug a SB-800/900 which I certainly didnt because I CBF bringing a DSLR)

Actually my displays are all calibrated now...these are straight out of camera....

I like the coral fungi in the third.
A. you recognised it as a fungi
B. not bad colour out of a happy snappy
C. It is a pleasing to the eye picture

Hey Cameron,
The first looks like a Russula rosea.
The second could be all sorts of things?
The third is a Ramaria species.

Thanks mate....these were all spotted and captured whilst walking along the path from the Three sisters up to Echo Point (yes that paved pathway frequented by too many tourists)
