I was lucky enough to pick up Steffen's nikkor 135 2.8 AI-s lens he was selling in this forum last week
and I got to take it out for a play today

Image

this was the "very first" shot in anger after about 5 test shots to get the exposure right, it was still slightly over exposed but have been able to bring it back with capture NX (great program... but a bit slow)
the camera was running in full manual mode, which made for a low keeper rate as I try to get use to it. I took about 400 shots for 60 keepers with about 10 at this level
to say that I'm happy with this lens is an understatement :)

That’s a sweet shot Keith and as you get to know it better the keep factor will rise.

Great shot. Your panning technique for this picture is spot on.

thanks for the kind comments
another shot... not as sharp but they are traveling a lot faster here as they enter turn one

Keith,

Nothing wrong with these at all.

Well done, and happy shooting.

Its good to see other people using the older Nikkor lenses. In January I bought for myself a 24mm f2 AI lens which gives me the equivalent of a 35mm f2 lens on my D200. It gets more use now than most other lenses in my kit simply because it is fast and wide yet reasonably compact.

Nice images Keith. Gives me confidence that when I get my D200 the Micro Nikkor 55mm AI-S and PK-13 that I have nursed will flower once more. :)
cheers
marco

That makes the D200 even more versatile in taking lenses.

Great shots by the way :D
