Got a thin skin? Then look elsewhere. Post a link to an image that you've made, and invite others to offer their critiques. Honesty is encouraged, but please be positive in your constructive criticism. Flaming and just plain nastiness will not be tolerated. Please note that this is not an area for you to showcase your images, nor is this a place for you to show-off where you have been. This is an area for you to post images so that you may share with us a technique that you have mastered, or are trying to master. Typically, no more than about four images should be posted in any one post or thread, and the maximum size of any side of any image should not exceed 950 px.

Forum rules
Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent.
Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature.
Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread.
Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Geez Shane, I had heard the saying turn your clocks back an hour and your mind ten years when entering Queensland, but are they only just releasing the Ferrari 288 GTO up there? We had them at our show in 1984. Only joking, the Ferrari 288 GTO is one of my favourite cars and very attractive. You caught the cars well within the difficult confines of a show. Well done

Wow - what a first post! One way to get our attention eh!
Some nice pics there, and they really do look good all layed out like that, not sure how those on dialup would like it with all those images to load (although I note you made them really small )
Really nice colours - do you recall what white balance you had set? I know you said you left it on auto, so that probably means the WB was auto too
It is interesting, seeing them layed out like this, how some of the more 'ordinary' pics in amongst them look really good - they add to the overall makeup.
Well done, and Welcome PS: While I think of it, did you have any problems taking the camera in? Were the security heavies hovering as you walked around? hehe

Steady there, Glen (although I think I did see a Vauxhall Viva at the show).
Great shots. More exciting than the motor show itself IMO. Brisbane's show has really gone down hill over the last few years. Notice this year, no BMW, Jaguar.
Cheers
Peter

Shane,
Great array of images; welcome.
Please be sure to put your location into your profile.
And we need to wean you off those auto settings. They'll help you only to a point, and then suddenly they'll be in your way. Best to deal with that ASAP.

Thanks for all the nice comments guys, I am stoked i stumbled across this place, A bunch of D70 users in Australia to chat with and learn from .
Im still getting the hang of this thing, its awesome fun, and starting to use those manual shots bit by bit. And Glen i have to say the 288 GTO is increadible, but my heart lies with the F50.
I got a few weird looks from the people at the Shannons stand who had the Ferraris on dispaly, I was leaning over a bit too much i think, other than that no one else minded.
I am not sure what white balance it was mate, I didnt want to mess around with it much being new and all, so i let Auto do it for me
And this years Motorshow really was great, made my day for sure. The last few had been pretty dodgey, jack all "supercars". And i was wondering why BMW never showed up also? that was a poor effort.
I am going to the formula one in melbourne on the 3rd, hoping to be able to take some nice clean shots by then also, I have the nikon 18-70mm lens and the tamron 70-300mm lens.

You might meet the Melbourne & Sydney gangs at the GP1 on the 3rd, they have the meet somewhere posted in this forum.

Leigh and I are flying down on the Friday morning of the GP. We'll be at the Melbourne Motor Show sometime during friday, and then we're meeting our Melbourne members at the One Metre Pizza place on Lygon St on Friday evening.
Please come down and join us.
We're also doing the Saturday morning pit walk, and have race tix for the Prost Stand.
What glass do you have for raceday, and where are you going to be seated?

Hey gstark, im not sure i will be able to make it on the friday mate, I have to go and visit cousins and such, and i am going with my bros, and there mates, so theres a fairly large crowd of us, im not sure what there doing, but i have to follow them. Thanks alot for the invite though.
I will most probably see the D70 crowd through the pitwalk on saturday for sure then! I am sitting at the Senna Stand, section D. Not sure what you mean by glass for the race day dude? meaning lens? just the 18-70 and 70-300mm are the only ones i got so far, i still need to purchase a decent bag and some more memory yet. I think i am going to the motorshow on the Monday as my bro planned out the event.
Will probably see you guys around if your going to the pitwalk
