Well they may be oars along this bridge, but I can't help but think of the fable of winged Icarus when I look at this image.

Hopefully my black and white treatment has done the image justice.

Certainly, this is no oardinary image, Peter.

What's interesting is that while it may look as if it's not quite straight, it is. Perhaps the shadow of the gentleman walking across the bridge contributes to this impression, or perhaps it's because your PoV is not quite centred. Regardless, it looks good.

I would like to see perhaps a tad more contrast in the conversion, and perhaps a little shaved off the top. Not quite short back and sides, though.

Peter, I like it. It's one of those pictures taken because you are there at the right time, at the right place and at the right time. Ok it's not quite perferct, but it is what it is. As such, it says so much more...

the revised version rocks. love the pano style. i'd go even tighter actually, really ram that image down the viewers throat. excellent work.

Same here.

On the left, you have the horizontal roofline of a building. I think that's Smith St, and it would be a block of units. I would use that as my crop point, and remove everything above that point.

I agree with your title Peter.
I really like how the railings bulge out with the wings.
Pano style does look a bit better.

I like it, but I'm with Gary on the illusion of not being straight - I keep falling off to the right when I look at it

Very nice work there peter, each iteration has improved (great to see the suggestions being implemented) but the question now is....do you think there is an improvement?

It is a very interesting location and I think I will have to make a trip out to Parra to find it for myself.

The reworked image feels 'better' but I did not have an issue with the straightness, however the pano style crop really tightens up the view and helps to isolate the main subject, the man...or the bridge..either or nice one!

I actually prefer the second last version (more sky cropped just above the central tree) but with soime "straightness" correction. The last one is too tight for my tastes and a little too dark. For me the bit of sky gives some balance.
