 Here at Siding Spring there are quite a few geckos running around in the warm evenings, here is a Barking Gecko taken last night with the 105, 1/60 @ f/18. Its a slight crop and reduction to fit on the page here. As usual with low illumination subjects I generally hold the camera in one hand and a light in the other, since the AF illuminator is partially blocked by the lens for close subjects.
 I took a few other nocturnal images, but want to revisit them to see if I can do something about the backgrounds, squueezed down behind a filing cabinet is a nice big redback, but its really difficult to get a good angle on it without it running for cover.
   comments welcome

 Thats the one The Geckos are shy here and at home too, it usually takes quite a while to get a decent photo!

 Interesting coincidence of shooter and subject (Gordon Gecko)
 Anyway I stray - Another great Gecko shot Gordon. I've never seen one of these in real life (no doubt a little scarce on the coast), but having seen this and your photo of the blue one I find them a very interesting looking creature.

 I'm both impressed with the clarity of the lens and your hand holding technique and look forward to more shots like this. The detail is fantastic!

 hehehe, dont think I'll need it, from past experience it hurts, a lot!, for a few days and the bitten limb feels like its made of lead, but I survive.
 3 redback bites so far... and no visits to the hospital.

 More Geckos, fairly sure these are Marbled Geckos, doing their bit for the survival of the species I love the colour of the underside.

 A loving couple embraced in each others errr, feet.
 It's cool how they are hugging each other. The one with the smug look must be the male.  Steve. |D700| D2H | F5 | 70-200VR | 85 1.4 | 50 1.4 | 28-70 | 10.5 | 12-24 | SB800 |Website-> http://www.stevekilburn.comLeeds United for promotion in 2014 - Hurrah!!!

 I hope I didnt give you nightmares mic! Its just as well they arent very big and I need a macro to show how scary they are Keep in mind that a relative of this spider was eaten by one of my friendly gecko pest patrollers Heres a close up of one of their eyes a few mins ago
