I took it in Spain using an in-built filter of the camera.
It produces a miniature-like effect that leads you to

Do you have a proper image of the village? It looks like it may have merit, and I'd love to see it without gimmicks.

Zafra, I sure hope you have a RAW image because this compo is superb! I also love the effect as well!

If it's like the tiltshifty effect on the D7000 I think it's only available with JPEGs and it bakes it into at capture? Gerry will know he's given it a try.

Yes, I opened the photo using the Adobe RAW utitlity
and I adjusted the contrast clarity and sharpness. Then,
I transfer the image to PhotoShop where I reduced the
size and made the dropdown frame.
However, this is the actual Photograph that came out
of the camera itself without any amnipulation, except
what I have detailed above. The visual effect is created
in the camera itself using an option call Miniature Effect.
The camera is a Canon PowerShot SX 30 IS and it has a
fixed lense. These are the pictures I took without the
Miniature Effect from the same vantage point before and
after the one above.

Interesting ...

The before image has richer greens and may be very slightly sharper (look at the trees in the foreground) but I think that the after image has slightly better contrast.

Either of these images is way better (IMHO) than the first one.

I actually don't mind this shot, its not that bad of a choice in terms of going for the mini-effect and it has good initial impact in my books.

I would liek to see the image with the same contrast and saturation levels in the first but without the effect, merely for comparsion.

Actually looking at it further, i think it is a perfect shot for the miniature effect, the image without the effect applied already has that compressed look... nice one...

I dabbled...it works on the raw image and from memory I don't think you can go back after you applied the effect, nice gimmick and it would suit a time lapse kinda series very well but other than that I cannot think of any brillant (or mediocre for that matter) ideas for it's use.

I quite like the miniaturization effect, it works well with the image content.
