Lovely stuff, though I'd be inclined to crop the top off the cobblestones a bit. The DOF control is great as you've been able to use enough to capture the cobblestones, but isolate the reflection and not let the stones themselves become a distraction.

With regard to the issue of content, the reductive quality of the purity of line brings within the realm of discourse the essentially transitional quality.

I'd be tempted to clone out the red dot on the cobblestones (centre, 3rd row from the top). Now that I know it's there my eye keeps going back to it.

Also, I like how creepy the picture looks when seen upside-down

Nice shot Bob, but there is something that nags at me (not my wife ). The dof looks strange, did you selectively blur the cobbles in pp?

Craig - It's an out of camera as shot very shallow dof. The cobblestones are undulating, uneven and rounded and on a different plane to the surface of the puddle.

Just a little fine-tuning of the exposure in ACR ( recovery, fill , blacks ).

Then I used the clone tool in photoshop to cover a small blemish in the reflection.

3 minutes tops.

i love this shot bob. the level of detail in the reflection is incredible and i love the effect you got with the different focal planes. lots of other nice images from your trip...no idea why you are posting one per thread though, makes commenting on some fabulous photos a bit onerous TBH.

I'm kind of wading through and just processing one or two each day. I should pick it up as I get into a routine and have some multiple image posts to come. Hopefully I can get a regular sleep pattern happening soon and feel normal again.
