Forum rules Please note that image critiquing is a matter of give and take: if you post images for critique, and you then expect to receive criticism, then it is also reasonable, fair and appropriate that, in return, you post your critique of the images of other members here as a matter of courtesy. So please do offer your critique of the images of others; your opinion is important, and will help everyone here enjoy their visit to far greater extent. Also please note that, unless you state something to the contrary, other members might attempt to repost your image with their own post processing applied. We see this as an acceptable form of critique, but should you prefer that others not modify your work, this is perfectly ok, and you should state this, either within your post, or within your signature. Images posted here should conform with the general forum guidelines. Image sizes should not exceed 950 pixels along the largest side (height or width) and typically no more than four images per post or thread. Please also ensure that you have a meaningful location included in your profile. Please refer to the FAQ for details of what "meaningful" is.

Re: Melbourn by DayThe first is very cool and the second is not bad either. With the first I think it could be warmed some - it looks a little cool to me. D600, D7000, Nikon/Sigma/Tamron Lenses, Nikon Flashes, Sirui/Manfrotto/Benro Sticks Rodney - My Photo Blog Want: Fast Wide (14|20|24)

Re: Melbourn by DayYes, I think I like the first and second too. Were you using filters? I feel the colours should havebeen more vivid in daylight.
Re: Melbourn by DayHe means 'Melbourne', by the way.
 Re: Melbourn by Day
The forum thanks you. Regards, Patrick

 Re: Melbourn by Day
I only used a polariser, the pictures are a bit deceiving as it was overcast most of the time with scattered showers when all the day Yarra ones were taken (kept having to shelter under the bridge) For #2 it had been raining only 2 minutes before (we were sheltering under the bridge on which it was taken on) BTW Melbourne corrected Cheers, Bruce Canon Eos 5D MKII, 16-35mm f2.8L II USM, EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM, EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM, EF 50mm f1.4 USM. Re: Melbourn by Day
Which part of "it was raining in Melbourne" do you think is a bit deceiving? Sorry. No I'm not. g. That would be the bit where he said scattered showers Greg It's easy to be good... when there is nothing else to do
Re: Melbourne by DayChaase, I hope I am not offending you with this but just using the Auto tone in CS5 has improved the colours of your image giving them a bit of vibrancy... I am sure you can do even better with the original photograph. pLease let me know if you want to remove your picture.
 Re: Melbourne by Day
No not at all, it's why I have "Edit photos OK" in my sig. It's the best way to learn
I did not even know that feature existed, I will have aplay this evening. Cheers Cheers, Bruce Canon Eos 5D MKII, 16-35mm f2.8L II USM, EF 24-70mm f/2.8L USM, EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM, EF 50mm f1.4 USM. Edit photos OK. http://bruceybaby66.smugmug.com/
Re: Melbourne by DayDrop down the Image menu to find: Auto tone Auto contrast Auto color After appliying one of the above, you can reduce de effect by dropping the Edit menu and finding the Auto... whatever effect you last applied. It is very unsophisticate, but a very simple way to improve some images.
Re: Melbourne by DayZafras edit has brought out the colors. Almost post card esque. Nice compo as well.
