A couple of weeks ago we traveled to the Red Centre of Australia. You have possibly seen the iconic film 'The Adventures of Priscilla, Queen of the Desert' in which three people climb a hill in high heels dressed in feathers as if they were to perform at the Moulin Rouge. Well, they climbed to the top of Kings Canyon in the Northern Territory of Australia. Two of us did just that with a backpack each containing two liters of water. Mine, loaded with camera gear was 6kg heavy. We climbed what the locals call the "Heart Attack Hill" (let me tell you, at our age it's a fairly appropriate name) because its steepness and we did the 6Km rim loop walk. The views were spectacular and no camera can ever make them justice. I hope you like it:

The guide did not allow us to come within two meters from the edge. It appears there has been a few deaths, not only from exertion from the climbing, but people getting too close to the edge and the ground giving way.

Thank you Ozi. We certainly have a country full of wonders and beauty. The more I see it and learn about it, the more I feel we need to protect it for future generations.
