new bmx rink photos

Excellent action shot...but the colour balance seems to be way too warm on my monitor. The black tyre is not neutral. I opened the image in PS and adjusted by -34 cyan and that improved the colours. Even PS's auto colour did a good job. Do you have a new monitor?

I must admit, I was lazy and choose autolevels in PS.

What are the focussing techniques that you are applying in motorsports
for example ?
I'm struggling between too much DOF and too little DOF on a moving object that is heading towards me.
How do you manage ?

to me i think the photo looks a bit cropped correct me if iam wrong?
any i usually use af-c - dynamic af modes.
but i think what happened in your photo is that your have use a shutter speed which gives the wheel treads a blurred look, but resulted in slightly blur rider hence lack of sharpness. how fast was the shutter speed?

I actually pre-focussed on the area where I thought the object would appear,
then switched the camera to manual focus and left the focus there.
Shutter speed 1/250,
aperture f4
focal length 90mm

Colour purrfect! Try this to add a little punch. In PS go to FILTERS/UNSHARP MASK and try the following settings...20/40/0
That should give it a nice little pop.

I would also boost the sat a little...

Paid shoot? What bike park? Do they mind people shooting?
