Did you consider taking it ~30sec exposure to get even more natural colour saturation and the ocean would look almost oil painted... What shutter speed did u use?

You have a distinctive trademark style with the heavily saturated images like this excellent one, but the versatility to do B & W or low saturation ones like your POTW. It is a pleasure to see your work and I'm honoured to have the opportunity. I look forward to many many more from you and can but aspire to the level of talent you show.

i think you guys would be surprised to see the original b/c it is pretty much exactly the same...
there was no cropping at all...i used my tripod, b/c it was about 30 mins after sunset, and the only PP was cloning out a couple that were sitting in the pic, and then USM/levels...
the saturated colours came partly from on-board d70 saturation boost, but mainly the natural lights from the sunset over the ocean, and a yellow light producing street lamp that lit up the boardwalk...
the shot was taken in Peurto Vallarta, Mexico a few weeks ago.
as for the EXIF and original photo, i will get it up tonight after work...

Simply stunning!
Just one tiny thing. As I spent several minutes gazing at it my eye kept
returning to the small speck of light on the horizon towards the left hand
side. It could easily be removed.
But this is really exeptional. (If only I could take one like that)
