Playing around yesterday with the 105mm macro (need I say which one) SB800 and shooting at f/32 1/60th sec.

The first shot is the beginning: a cumquat flower, the inner slightly yellow part will become the fruit. Size of flower 15mm head to toe.



This is what happens when you forget to water a plant!



The above two shots are part of nature, the following shot is what happens when nature attacks a man made item - the end:



Please feel free to critique these and help me towards seeing through others eyes

A very good test........ my only comment would be get in a lot closer to fully test the lens and shoot on say f8 or f11 to make things a little more graphic.......

There is plenty of detail evident in these images - the Sigma has done well.

I like the DOF - I guess f32 is the minimum aperture?
I like the lighting for the flower pix.
The last image isn't my favourite. I think I'd like to be able to identify what the object is. I'm guessing from your description your subject is the rust, but I'm curious as to what the writing says and why.

The first is my fav, Chris. Sharp with good DOF and color. Nicely done.

Chris - the first one does it for me, sharp as, and nice DOF with the Sigma - excellent .

Excellent Macro Work Chis. Really great shots. The last one doesn't really bring out the rust very much, I'd like to see it closer. As it is you don't really know what you're looking for. The leaf and the flower are beautiful, the first one looks flawless to me save for slightly weak color, the second one is terrific too and might look great in a duotone effect.

Trevor - it’s an old can of Watsons wood treatment that looks as if it needs treatment itself.
