Never tried a shot of the moon before so thought I'd give it a go... Not sure on the results...

80-400 (no VR) on tripod, F13, 1/60th, @400mm, spot meter (maybe I should have used the SB800 ).

I think I see Neil Armstrong's footprint on there Yeah agreed, you should've mounted the SB800 to the right side, it's a bit dark there

That's a nice sharp photo...tempted to get the 80-400VR but no $$ :S

Andrew this is a top shot mate, i tried this when i first got this lens and was amazed at the way the pics came out.
This is a great pic mate, i did mine handheld with VR so yeh give it a try, with out tripod test your VR out and you should get same result.
