Decided to get a few night shots under my belt before August's meet

It's an ok pic and not really sure what else could be done with it as there wasn't a lot of light to work with.

Apart from too much foreground, I think you did a good job.

Piro - I agree with Gerard. Maybe a better result would have been attainable by actually doing the pano down on the beach
