Couple this with the skateboarding events there and it could well be a interesting day out.

Outpost Project on Cockatoo Island now open!

Visit Outpost and see how the works of over 150 local and international artists have transformed Cockatoo Island, Sydney Harbour, into the biggest Street Art festival in the Southern Hemisphere.

Outpost is a free event with your Sydney Ferry ticket, open daily until 11 December 2011.

Looks interesting but probably won't have time. Make sure you take a few flashes and try HSS if you do end up going.

went past a number of times on the ferry and it looks like fun, will definitely be there at some stage, probably when the skaters are there, probably won't have a camera with me though...

Would it suitable for little chaos? I considered but thought it might be a bit too hot/ not enough shade.

nope...i would say minimum 7 yro
there is plenty of shade, but there are adult themes there and still lots of walking in the sun.

Its more geared towards teenagers / young adults, those still stuck in the 70's, those who live in newtown, and those who want to be cool by buying the shirts.

There is some great art there though! there is good stuff for the kiddies, crafty stuff, skateboarding, table tennis etc...

you may recognise this location too Suren, this dude has some good stuff imo.

That's what I thought. It's quite harsh there especially when the sun is up...

Any skate pics?

Great to see that you got out there Gerry. You have captured some great images. I particularly like the first. I visited a few weeks ago....
