Nikon Factory Damaged in Quake and Tsunami

Postby gstark on Tue Mar 15, 2011 12:18 pm

The Nikon Pro DSLR factory has been damaged in the earthquake that hit Northern Japan on Friday last.

Of course, this is just a very minor part of the massive chain of events that has occurred. I am at a loss to describe my feelings on seeing the various news items and images and video that is coming out of Japan. It is both distressing and distracting.

Please feel free to post your feelings within this thread. I think it's important that those who wish to discuss these sorts of events.

What amazes me is the composure of the Japanese people. It's remarkable how they can suffer in silence in the face of such devastation.

Especially when you see in the same news bulletin: Japanese people that have lost everything including loved ones and Australians returning from Japan whinging how they had to wait for hours to get the plane.

Yeah I agree.

All we can hope is that this disaster brings more nations together as a whole to work together.

It is depressing to see when life is wiped out and seeing people in hardships.

Apparently there is hardly any looting because theft is considered a bad thing in their culture!

Also I read an article that the mafia families are patrolling the streets to make sure there is no funny activity!

May the gods stand condemned for this outrage on a gentle, orderly community.
