'Appy Straya Day

Postby gstark on Wed Jan 26, 2011 9:30 am

'Appy Straya Day, all y'all.

Just two things:

Take a few moments to remember those of us who have suffered (or are still suffering) great losses due to the various weather events that we've been experiencing of late.

Stay cool.

And let's see some Straya Day photos in this thread. MAke some images, and post them here.

Stay safe.

Gerry,

I do like the second of those images. Great work.

I spent 3 and a half hours on Australian soil and maybe another 2 hours in Australian air space. Most of the day was spent in Vanuatu. I did have lunch at The Beach Bar which is run by an Australian and he was playing Australian music.

All the staff on Hideaway Island were wearing hats with Australian flags and/or temporary tattoos of Australian flags.

right place, right time, right angle - damn hard to nail a shot like that with everything in symmetry.

It was and I had the full day... arrived in the city just before 9:30AM and my daughter and I spent the whole day roaming the various city activities (from Hyde Park to the Harbour to the Rocks and Darling Harbour for the fireworks) - didn't get home till 10PM - she was very tired :)

I'll post some pics later :)

Happy Australia Day everyone :)

Hey Gerry, the fungi was one with a dry style of cap, almost like velvet. It was about 15mm across from memory.
